Tai Chi is an “internal Martial Art” best characterized by its fluid, calm and beautiful movements, in which body and mind come together in harmony, are strengthened and unwinds.
The Tai Chi “Form” also known as the Hand form, is a serie of movements done very slowly. Through these you can, among other, strengthen your respiration, concentration, coordination, your circulatory system as well as your balance, both mentally and physically. We practise many things at the Summercamps, but the hand/weapon forms have the highest priority.
The techniques of Tai Chi are based on self defence, that improves the practitioners balance, speed, agility and internal strength. The founding element is to divert or turn the opponents force against himself with a minimal expendure of own force.
You decide!
At the Summercamp you have the opportunity to practise the Hand Form (short and long form), Self defence, Pushing Hands, Weapons (sabre, sword, fan and spear), Nei Kung and theory. You practise at the level you are at.
Qigong are ancient Chinese health exercises which are often used in Chinese medicine and is used both for preventive, strengthening and curative purposes. Qigong means energy cultivaton or to work with energy.
Traditionally Qigong is used in Chinese Martial Arts to provide practioners with a good and solid grounding, both physically and mentally. The slow and relaxed patterns of movement combined with long and deep breathing will enhance the absorbtion of oxygen. The exercises act to strengthen muscles, sinew, bones, nerves and improves bloodcirculation. They improve balance, coordination, concentration and focus and have been proven effective in lowering bloodpressure. Lastly Qigong has a calming effect and reduces stress to bring an inner peace.
At the Summercamp we will practise Tai Chi 18 Qigong, Six Sounds Qigong Five Animals Qigong, Tai Chi 9 Qigong and Ba Duan Jin. You will also have the opportunity to try the more demanding serie of Shaolin Qigong.
